TORONTO ZOO
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Toronto Zoo first approached TDI-PS in 2018 seeking a replacement for their aging fleet of Diesel Zoomobiles. Their intention was to introduce a new fleet that could operate throughout the year without losing the “wind in the hair” feeling for those visiting the zoo in the warmer summer season.
By combining a robust efficient heating system in the carriages for the cold winter months with a new drop down window especially developed for the zoo to maximise the cooling breeze in the summer months we believe this has resulted in a perfect solution for a year round operation. In addition, a new larger carriage was also designed to cope with the zoo visitor numbers seating 28 adults in each carriage and 84 passengers in total.
